Glassbrooks have been helping motorists keep their driving licences for a number of years. The reason this is needed is that the
Police and their cameras really can be wrong!
Have a close look at these photographs. Each has a “data block”, ie the box at the bottom of the picture containing the numbers. The
time and date is on the left. The speed (the negative figure is because the car is going away from the camera) and distance from the
camera is on the right.
The second photograph was taken a second after the first and yet the car that is driving away from the camera has been measured as closer!
We have no idea how this happened, but when we took the case to trail the prosecution couldn’t explain it either. Our client walked away
with a clean licence and his legal costs paid for him from “Central Funds” (ie by the court).
We couldn’t use the original photographs because the Constabulary claims copyright, but all the relevant numbers in the data block are
unchanged.
